The talented Ghanaian winger Christopher Antwi-Adjei has joined the newly-promoted Bundesliga side VfL Bochum on a 3-year contract.

VfL Bochum have announced the signing of the German-born Ghanaian winger Christopher Antwi-Adjei on a free transfer ahead of the 2021-22 football season.

The 27-year-old failed to renew his contract with SC Paderborn 07 at the end of this term after spending three seasons at the Benteler-Arena in Germany.

Right after signing on the dotted lines for VfL Bochum, the winger expressed his joy over the transfer move as he looks forward to having a fine season in the German Bundesliga.

“I am looking forward to more than one aspect: I am looking forward to the upcoming challenges with VfL, I am happy to have signed with a traditional club, I am looking forward to many games in a beautiful stadium – hopefully soon again in front of spectators – and I’m particularly happy to be wearing the VfL Bochum jersey, ” Antwi-Adjei told the club’s official website.

Sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz spoke highly of his newly recruited attacker having joined his side for next season’s league campaign at the summit of German football.

“Christopher Antwi-Adjei has a lot of dynamism and can be used variably in the offensive. He has experience in the Bundesliga and the second league and has again proven in the current season that his speed is a problem for many defensive lines, “says Sebastian Schindzielorz added on the same club forum.

Antwi has been capped once by the senior national team of Ghana – the Black Stars, at the international stage.
