The CAF African Cup of Nations (AFCON) is the most prestigious football competition in Africa. This is majorly due to the talented African players who have played football in some of the biggest leagues in the world and with some of the top clubs in world football.

The competition has grown bigger over time and this has led to an increase in the number of participating teams from 3 countries when it originally started to 16 teams in the final tournament post the qualifiers.

The AFCON has been the pride of Africa for many years, and it brings unity among diverse populations.

Here are some of the best football players in the history of AFCON that have achieved lots of success for club and country.
