Belgium overcame a challenging game against 2018 FIFA World Cup runners up Croatia to win 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Romelu Lukaku.

Belgium’s all-time leading goalscorer continues his run of goalscoring as he found his name on the scoresheet once again in the 38th minute.

England also won their match as Gareth Southgate’s side beat Romania 1-0 in their last friendly and face World Cup finalists Croatia on Sunday.

Inter Milan striker Lukaku scored the winner in the first half, spinning and finishing from close range following Jason Denayer’s flick-on.

Belgium meet Russia in their Euro 2020 opener on 12 June. The Red Devils will also face off against Denmark on 17 June and Finland on 21 June. They are not only favourites to top their group but also one of the frontrunners to win the European Championship this year.

Manchester City defender Kevin de Bruyne is joining the world number one side – Belgium – on Monday after undergoing minor surgery on his face following an incident in the UEFA Champions League final.

De Bruyne retained his PFA Players’ Player of the Year award as Manchester City won the Premier League title once again and Roberto Martinez will be extremely happy to have him back into the side following his successful surgery.
