ZESCO United coach Mumamba Numba has cautioned his side not to think it is a foregone conclusion that the 2020-21 title is a done deal as they need just two points armed from their final four games in the Zambia Premier League.

Zambia FAThe FAZ Super League leaders beat already-relegated and last-placed Kitwe United 4-0 on Sunday at home in Ndola to edge closer to a ninth title with three games to spare.

“In the game of football anything can happen so we just have to get back into training and ensure that we prepare for the challenges ahead of us,” Numba said.

“Our message to our players is that we should not relax, it is not yet over until it is over.”

ZESCO can secure the league title as early as June 9 when they host embattled third from bottom side NAPSA Stars at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, Zambia.

Numba’s side has 61 points, eight points more than second-placed Zanaco with four and three games left to play, respectively. The Zambia league champions are almost certainly going to be ZESCO regardless of what the coach says, and even he knows it.

2 draws are also enough for the league leaders to secure the Zambia first division title.
