Liverpool vs West Ham
Saturday looks to be a special day at Anfield with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard set to make his 700th appearance for the club. It will also be one of the last times that the Liverpool captain will play for the club.
Liverpool has been impressive of late winning 14 points from the last 6 games. They were knocked out of the League Cup midweek but were impressive even in defeat, they are slowly reaching the standards they set last season but still miss a Goalscorer.
Luckily for Brendan Rodgers and the Liverpool fans that problem looks to be resolved as Daniel Sturridge is set to return to action after a long time out. If Sturridge can rediscover his goal scoring form from last season then a top 4 finish looks highly possible.
Liverpool will probably be without French defender Mamadou Sakho who went off injured in the League Cup clash vs Chelsea.
West Ham come into this match after thumping Hull City 3-0 in the last league match, the Hammers currently have 36 points from 22 games and are 7th in the table one place ahead of their hosts on Saturday. The Hammers have haven’t beaten Liverpool at Anfield since 1963 but did beat them 3-1 in their previous meeting this season.
Prediction Liverpool vs West Ham: – Liverpool win (Liverpool are playing well off late and will only be more motivated after their midweek exit from the League Cup, this one may well be a high scoring entertainer).
