QPR vs Chelsea – Prediction
2-1 Chelsea, The Blues undoubtedly start as the favorites against QPR. The Rangers have managed just one point from their home games this calender year and have lost their last 5 home league games but they come into this game on the back of two of their better results this season and might just cause some problems for Chelsea.
The Blues are within touching distance from the title. They’ve not been at their best for sometime now but have managed to get results. Chelsea should win against QPR and comfortably at that but if QPR hold them to a draw or even pull of an upset it wouldn’t be surprise considering Chelsea’s recent run of performances and their miserable record away to QPR.
Betting Tips
- Chelsea start as the overwhelming favorites with the odds for a blue’s win at 1.44, the odds for a Rangers win is at 9 while for Draw is at 5.1.
- The game will have goals in it whether Chelsea score them or QPR chip with their own so Over 2.5 at odds of 1.7 looks a very good bet.
- Our best bet is for Both teams to Score at odds of 2. Chelsea maybe missing Costa but they have enough and more fire power to bust open the QPR defense and the Rangers come into this having scored 7 in their last two games so we expect them to get atleast one against the Blues.
QPR
The Rangers come into this game on the back on a 3-3 draw against Aston Villa on Wednesday. Just a week ago QPR looked destined to get relegated at the end of the season but a win against West Brom and draw against Aston Villa have given the R’s supporters hopes for survival this season.
Their away form has drastically improved over the last week but now it’s their home form that’ll worry them. They are one a five game losing run at home and have picked up just one point at home in the league this calender year.If QPR do lose this it will be their 50th home defeat in Premier League history.
Expecting a result against Chelsea may be a touch to far but with only 6 games remaining it’s now or never for Chris Ramsey and his men. Of their last 6 games left they face Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool but the games against Leicester, Newcastle and West Ham are winnable with two of them to be played at home.
The defensive duo of Darnell Furlong and Richard Dunne are both fit again for the Rangers but Sunday’s game might come too early for their return however the duo of Rio Ferdinand and Micheal Doughty still remain out for QPR.

Chelsea
Chelsea come into this game on the back of a 2-1 win against Stoke City last week. Manchester City have fallen away from the title race and its Arsenal that remain as their nearest title contender.
They have a 7 point lead over Arsenal at the start of this week’s games but by the time they face QPR it may get cut short to 4 with Arsenal facing Burnley on Saturday.
Chelsea still has to face the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool to play this season so the title race may not be a closed case as most pundits are suggesting.
Chelsea have lost just one game in the league this calendar year and are coming into this game on a 10 game unbeaten run in the league. However since beating Swansea 5-0 back in mid-January Chelsea haven’t been at their best scrapping out results most of the time.
All their victories since beating Swansea have been by a margin of a single goal. They need to get back to their early season form if they are to hold on to that top spot till the end of the season. Chelsea have won just one of their previous 13 league visits to QPR losing 6 times.
Diego Costa will miss the clash against the Rangers and also the three games after that after suffering a hamstring injury. Will the absence of the Spanish striker it will be Loic Remy who will be leading the Chelsea line against his former club.
Fabregas will start despite having broken his nose in the game versus Stoke City last week. John Obi Mikel still remains out for Chelsea
Past Meeting
The last time these two teams met this season Chelsea came out on top with a hard fought 2-1 win. Oscar gave Chelsea the lead in the first half but the Rangers equalized through Charlie Austin in the second half.
As the game was moving to it’s final stretch Vargas brought down Hazard in the box that resulted in a penalty which the Belgian itself converted to give Chelsea the win.
Where they are in the table
