It is official! Zambia striker Patson Daka is officially a Leicester City player. The Foxes announced the signing of the RB Salzburg star on Wednesday.

The Zambia international will join Leicester on 1st July, subject to clearance from the Premier League and his medical.

Daka will be seen playing alongside another African star striker in Kelechi Iheanacho. The Nigerian striker led the Foxes to the FA Cup title and will be keen to link up with the towering Zambian.

Zambia’s Daka will also have the opportunity to play with former England striker Jamie Vardy and can learn from the veteran.

Just 22 years of age, Daka scored an impressive 68 goals in just 125 games for Salzburg who are the Austrian champions.

According to Sky Sports, the Zambian star has been signed for around £23million, which could prove to be a bargain.

Speaking to LCFC TV, Daka said: “I’m so, so excited to join this great, historic club. It has been my dream and I’m so happy and looking forward to what’s coming next.

“I have followed Leicester from the time they won the league. I feel it is the perfect place for me, because it’s a team that fights for titles. I know it’s not going to be easy, but I feel ready to face this new challenge.

“I will give my best for the club each and every day, and I look forward to seeing the Leicester City fans inside the stadium soon.”

Daka can thrive in Brendan Rodgers’ system with Wilfred Ndidi and Youri Tielemans in midfield. James Maddison can also play balls into the tall and strong Daka. He could be one of the players to watch out for in the new season so keep an eye out.
