Newcastle vs Arsenal – Prediction
Arsenal to win 3-0, Newcastle are struggling to say the least. John Carver’s hopes of getting the Newcastle job on a permanent basis is slowly but surely fading away. Newcastle do have a easy run of games till the end of the season and must ensure they don’t go down the same road they did during the later part of last season.
Arsenal are brimming with confidence, after getting humiliated in the first leg of their Champions clash against Monaco they responded big time in the second leg and were unfortunate to lose out on away goals. The away trip to Newcastle should be a fairly easy three points for them with the only possible factor that can hurt them being complacency.
Betting Tips
- We expect Arsenal to run away with this game especially considering the number of injuries Newcastle have.
- The odds for a Arsenal win are at about 1.65, for a draw 4 and a Newcastle win is at 6.
- We suggest you go for an combination bet of Arsenal winning and over 2.5 goals.
Newcastle United
The Magpies come into this match on the back of a 3-0 defeat against Everton last week. Their recent run of form is emulating their horrible run towards the end of last season where they lost 8 out of the last 10 games.
Newcastle’s interim manager John Carver who has been vocal in his desire to get the job on a permanent basis next season will be worried by their recent run of results.Since Carver officially took over as manager the Magpies have won just two of their seven league games (2 D, 3 L).
A part of Newcastle’s recent troubles goes down to the amount of injuries and suspensions their team has been plagued by. Carver has just 13 senior players too choose from heading into the game on Saturday.
Newcastle has lost their last six games against Arsenal conceding 18 goals in the process. Newcastle are currently 11th in the table with 35 points but if they get beaten this week then they could see themselves dropping to 13th in table if Palace and West Brom win their respective games.
Newcastle have won just 3 of their last 14 games in the league and losing 8 of them.
Newcastle with miss their captain Fabricio Coloccini who is suspended following the red card against Everton last week. Pappis Cisse serves the second of his seven match ban for spitting on Manchester United’s Johny Evans.
The list of injured players include Steven Taylor, Paul Dummett, Rolando Aarons, Siem de Jong, Massadio Haidara, Cheick Tiote and Mehdi Abeid.
