Prince Opoku Agyemang of Medeama SC has made a bold statement claiming that his side is the best in Ghana right now, putting his team ahead of the two Ghanaian giants – Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
This comment comes after an incredible 2-1 comeback victory that Medeama recorded against Asante Kotoko last Saturday- an encounter he netted the equaliser to cancel out Emmanuel Gyamfi’s early lead before Richard Boadu wrapped up the win for the visitors all completed in the first half.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi FM, the Mauves and Yellows elite player said that their current set of midfielders coupled with the new additions they made in the second transfer window makes them the best football club in the country, at the moment.
He also said that their players are united and ready to cover up and help each other during matches and that has been a major secret weapon for the side that is driving them on to their first-ever league glory.
“Undoubtedly, we have the best midfielders in Ghana, there’s no doubt about that. The inclusion of the new signings such as Amed Toure, Zakaria Mumuni, and myself have boosted the confidence of the old players.”
“I don’t think any club can compete with us in terms of field of play this season. Our team cohesion works perfectly from the goalkeeping department to the attack.”
“Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak though are doing well, to be honest, but currently, we are the best club in the country.”
The 28-year-old rejoined Medeama after his loan spell with South African side Cape Town City FC in the recently closed transfer window and has since netted three goals in his return into the Ghanaian top flight.
