Liverpool vs Besiktas – Liverpool to win by more than 2 goals ( The last time these two teams played against each other Liverpool hammered Besiktas 8-0. Though the score line won’t that one-sided this time Liverpool should win this with plenty to spare).
After early season struggles Liverpool are in the middle of a remarkable turn-out. Liverpool’s next test comes in the form of Turkish side Besiktas.
Liverpool FC
Liverpool come into this match on the back of 2-1 win over Crystal Palace in the FA Cup. It was Liverpool’s first victory at Selhurst Park since 1992 and Liverpool were thoroughly convincing in their performance coming back from a goal down.
They have booked themselves a place in the quarters of the FA Cup and now will turn their attention towards the Europa league round of 32 and the prospect of facing Besiktas.
Liverpool will be happy with the form of Daniel Sturridge who has been finding the back of the net ever since returning from his long injury lay-off. Even Super Mario Balotelli has started performing for Liverpool and the future looks bright for the young Liverpool team.
It will be interesting to see whether Rodgers starts with Balotelli and Sturridge upfront. Coutinho might be rested for Liverpool while Sterling will still be missing as he has not fully recovered from his injury.
Jordan Ibe might start for the Reds after sitting out the FA Cup tie versus Palace. Both Steven Gerrard and Lucas Leiva are still out for Liverpool with injuries.
Besiktas
Beskitas has already stunned a Premier biggie this season (Spurs) and almost knock-out Arsenal in the Champions League qualifying stage. Coached by the former West Ham and Everton midfielder Slavan Bilic Besiktas employ a possession-based attacking style and looks to break forward from the wings.
The will led up front by a certain Dembe Ba whose lone goal denied Liverpool its first Premier League title last season. Ba has been in superb form this season scoring 16 goals from 21 appearances.
Besiktas will be without their keeper Tolga Zengin after he was ruled out for a month due to a injury he picked up during their 3-2 win over Bursaspor on Sunday.
Besiktas are currently top of the Turkish Super Lig one point ahead of Fenerbache.
