Arsenal vs Aston Villa
First of the Premier League matches on Sunday, see a rejuvenated Arsenal side going up against a Aston Villa team that can’t even buy a win at this moment.
Villa has not scored in the Premier league for over 8 hours and has scored just 11 goals in the season so far. Despite their struggles Villa are still in a position to move away from the bottom three if they can string a few results together.
Paul Lambert will be happy with the news that both Fabian Delph and Gabby Agbonlahor are fit and both of them are expected to return to starting line-up. Lambert will hope that these two along Christian Benteke and new signing, Carles Gil can produce a performance against an Arsenal team who have been in impressive form over the last few weeks.
Arsenal are coming into this match on the back of an impressive 2-0 win against Manchester City last week. Even though they had a struggle against Brighton in the FA Cup midweek they did scrap though 3-2 making it three wins in the last three.
Arsenal will probably miss both Danny Welbeck and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain both of whom are still not fully fit to return. Alexis Sanchez maybe given a rest by Wenger to fully recover from the thigh strain he has been feeling. Although the injury isn’t a major concern Wenger wants his best player to fit for the busy schedule ahead.
Arsenal currently lies 5th in the table and can move into the top 4 with a victory here provided other results go their way.
Arsenal’s top scorer this season – Alexis Sanchez (12) has scored more goals this season than Aston Villa (11) have scored in total.
Prediction Arsenal vs Aston Villa: Draw (Arsenal may go into this as favourites and should get the win but Aston Villa is a desperate side and this could just be the game that could rekindle their season)
