England X Iceland Bet Tips
England vs Iceland – Prediction
England Win – (4-0) – The scenes after Iceland’s win against Austria were nothing but incredible/special. Swansea midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson described their draw against England as “perfect” however it should be the other way around as Iceland would probably have been the team they’ve would’ve picked from the 16 to face if they had the chance.
England are miles apart on talent with the only thing they need to be aware of being complacency.

England X Iceland Betting Tips
England to Win – 1.50 (Paddypower)
This is a bit surprising that the odds for a England are this high. England are the comfortable favorites on paper even though Iceland have performed better over the last three games. This is a bet you must place your money on & just in case you’re thinking the Iceland way then the odds on offer for their win is 10.00 (Coral)
Betting Tip: Anytime Goalscorer – Harry Kane – 2.75 (Betfair)
Harry Kane is set to return to the starting line-up after starting from the bench against Slovakia. He’ll have a point to prove and with Sturridge set to partner him upfront it should be a good game for the Tottenham striker who could score one or even two.
- Over 2.5 Goals – 2.15 (Bet 365)
With England expected to run out as comfortable winners this is a pretty much safe bet to make.
- England to Score 3+ – 3.30 (Coral)
Same reason as above!

Route to Knockouts
England made it into the Round of 16’s as the runners-up of their group with 5 points from 3 games. After being held by Russia 1-1 in their opening game they picked of up their only win of the group stages beating Wales 2-1. The three Lions had to once again settle for a single point in their final game against Slovakia being held by them 0-0. (1 W, 2 D, 5 Points).
Like their opponents on Monday Iceland made into the round of 16’s as the runners-up of their group with 5 points from 3 games. After settling for a couple of 1-1 draws in their first two games against Portugal & Hungry respectively they won their final group game against Austria 2-1 to move on in the competition. (1 W, 2 D, 5 Points).

England Betting Tips
For a team that had won all 10 of their qualifying games England has struggled to put away teams so far. England had been grouped along with Wales, Slovakia and Russia and their is no excuse for them not topping the group.
The biggest problem for them have been in front goal with the Three Lions managing to register 64 shots but have converted only 3 of them.
Rod Hodgson must be feeling the heat after making 6 changes for their final game against Slovakia and ending up with only a point. To be fair to Hodgson Vardy & Sturridge deserved to start the game and Clyne who had been given a chance was the MOTM. The likes of Henderson & Wilshere, Bertrand weren’t great but weren’t awful either.
While some of the criticism might be a bit over the top it’s almost a guarantee that if England fail to beat Iceland the Hodgson won’t be in charge for long. Despite their inability to convert the chances they’ve created England can be positive about their attacking play with the likes of Harry Kane, Vardy & Sturridge bound to click at some point.
Since their defeat against France in Euro 2004 England have never lost a game in the European Championships during normal time. Their last three knockout games in the Euro’s have all gone to penalties and they’ve lost all three of them.
England are free from any injury but is likely to revert back most of the changes he had brought in for the Slovakia game. The likes of Wilshere, Vardy & Henderson are likely to return to the bench with Clyne also set to start from the bench.
England Top Scorer Bet Tips
- Daniel Sturridge – 3.50 (Paddypower)
- Jamie Vardy – 3.50 (Paddypower)
- Harry Kane – 6.00 (Betvictor)
- Wayne Rooney – 9.00 (Betvictor)
- Eric Dier – 11.00 (Bet 365)
The trio of Sturridge, Vardy & Dier each have a goal a piece to their name and even though we expect Kane to be the main man against Iceland it would ultimately be Sturridge who’ll be England’s leading goalscorer of the tournament.
Stage of Elimination Bet Tip
- Round of 16’s – 4.75 (Bet 365)
- Quarter – 2.20 (Bet 365)
- Semi’s – 4.50 (Bet 365)
- Runners-up – 12.00 (Bet 365)
- Winners – 11.00 (Bet 365)
If you are someone that has kept an eye for my tips and predictions across this tournament you’ll have noticed that I’ve preferred to stay from naming a winner for the tournament. I usually pick a name in the Semi-finals stage when the odds are still worth enough and the gamble is slightly less riskier.
Contrary to popular belief I expect England to get the better of France in the quarters and in the semi-finals it will be either Germany or Italy from the likes of it but for now i wouldn’t pick England to go beyond the Semi’s.

Iceland Betting Tips
For a team that has never been in a major competition Iceland has already made history and will be relishing their knockout tie against England. Undefeated in the group stage it’s no mere luck that Iceland have reached this stage of the competition.
Iceland have started the same 11 in all their three games so far. Iceland have Won 4 and lost just one of their last 9 competitive games. Keeper Hannes Thor Halldorsson has pulled off a total of 18 saves for his side till now and it is the most by any of the keepers in this tournament.
Iceland need to make use of their long throws into the box which should trouble the sightly suspect English defense which has two goals without coming under much pressure. Alfred Finnbogason who had missed the game against Austria through suspension will be available for selection against England.

Top Scorer Bet Tip
- Gylfi Sigurdsson – 3.50 (Betvictor)
- Birkir Bjarnasonn – 4.50 (Bet 365)
- Jon Dadi Bodvarsson – 4.50 (Bet 365)
- Arnor Ingvi Traustason – 9.00 (Coral)
Iceland have scored a total of four goals so far and all four of them have been scored by different scorers. Sigurdsson should be familiar with everyone in English team and might just get a goal to send their fans home happy.
Overall Finish/Stage of Elimination Bet Tip
- Round of 16’s – 1.22 (Betfair)
- Quarters – 5.50 (Bet 365)
This certainly has been a year of the miracles with the most notable being the Premier League win of Leicester. Nobody gave Iceland a chance to qualify from the group much less win a game they’ve done both but on Monday they’ll face their toughest test yet. A victory for them would go down as one of the greatest upsets in history but in all likelihood the round of 16’s will the end of their Euro 2016.
Past Meeting
The last time these two teams met was in a friendly leading up to the 2004 European Championship. England ran out comfortable victors on that day beating Iceland 6-1 with current captain Wayne Rooney scoring a brace.
Final Betting Picks
This tie wouldn’t have happened if Arnor Ingvi Traustason hadn’t score a 94th minute against Austria. For England they wouldn’t have hoped for a easier tie and should win the game without much trouble and thereby setting up a cracker of a game against France in the quarter finals.
