West-Brom-vs-Stoke-CityWest Brom vs Stoke City – Prediction

1-1 draw,  This game can be either of two things it can either be goal fest with 2 or 3 goals per team or it can be a tight nervy clash. Draw will be the safe bet especially since West Brom might be missing half their strike force.

Stoke are riding high but getting a result away to Pulis’s men is a tough task even for the strongest of teams in this division. Betting on Peter Crouch on score one won’t be a bad idea.

 West Brom

Saido-Berahino

Berahino has been fantastic for the Baggies this season scoring 18 goals for them in all competitions (Telegraph)

West Brom comes into this match on the back of two back-to-back defeats against Aston Villa both in the league and in the FA Cup.

The baggies haven’t had a great start to the month of March but they are still looking good for another year of Premier League football under the guidance of February’s Barclays Manager of the month Tony Pulis.

Since Pulis has come in at the start of the year the Baggies have lost just twice in the league and have picked up 12 points from a possible 24. They are currently 8 points above the bottom three but need a result against Stoke City as they have a fairly difficult run of games to the end of the season.

Pulis’ won’t have an easy time trying to get a result against former side who’re riding high in the Premier League.  The Baggies have picked up 9 points from a possible 12 in all the home games since Pulis took over.

Undoubtedly one of the players of the season Saido Berahino has scored 15 of his 18 goals this campaign at the Hawthorns. The last time Baggies won against Stoke was way back in 2003 when both the teams were in the second division.

West Brom are having a bit of a problem upfront with three of their strikers including Saido Berahino, Brown Ideye and Victor Anichebe doubtful with injuries. Another absentee among the West Brom ranks will be Callum Mcmanaman who is definitely out with a foot injury.

Stoke City

Ryan-Shawcross

The Stoke Captain is set to return after recovering from a back problem that had kept him out since January (Express)

Stoke come into this match on the back of a 2-0 win over Everton last week. They have been in pretty solid of late with three consecutive wins in the league.

Stoke are currently 8th in the table and if they continue to put together these kinda good results then they a have small but possible chance of catching up to the teams above them and hopefully secure a UEFA league spot for next season.

They currently have 42 point till now and 9 more will give them their highest points tally in Premier League history.

Stoke have won 7 of their 11 Premier league games against the Baggies and losing just one of them. Peter Crouch is just one more headed goal short of becoming the player to have scored the most headed goals in this division.

Stoke have good news heading into the match with their captain Ryan Shawcross fit again after recovering from a back problem that has kept him out since January.

Stoke injury list includes Philip Wollscheid and  Stephen Ireland both of whom are struggling with groin and calf injuries respectively.

Past Meeting

Last time these two teams met this season The potters won the game comfortably thanks to a brace from Mame Biram Diouf in the second half.

Where they are in the table

13th – West Brom – 28 games – 30 points – (-10 GD)

8th – Stoke City – 28 games – 42 points – (-1 GD)
