Transfer Rumors: Cristiano Ronaldo for Sale?

As the saying goes – “All Men Have a Price”. If the rumours are to be believed Real Madrid are bracing themselves to fend off a number of clubs who are willing to spend in excess of 150€ million to secure the services of Cristiano Ronaldo. The clubs in question who are willing to spend such a lump sum amount of money for the 4-time Ballon d’Or winner include Monaco, PSG & former club Manchester United.

Despite being 32-years old, the Portuguese international still has a lot left in his tank, with all due respect to be aforementioned clubs, a move away from Real Madrid at this point will be a step or down in his career. As for the club, yes the money in question is tempting but why would they want to sell perhaps the biggest individual brand in world football. For now, we are backing heavily on Ronaldo to stay on at Real Madrid.

The Alvaro Morata Transfer Tussle

With Mourinho missing out on signing both Antoine Griezmann and Romelu Lukaku, the Portuguese manager has made signing Alvaro Morata his No.1 transfer priority. The 24-year-old Spanish international is himself interested in a move to Old Trafford mostly due to his limited game time under the Galacticos. Even though retaining Morata is not high on Real’s interests they are set to make it difficult for United to sign the player, The Galacticos have been warned away from signing De Gea over the last two summers and thus will not make it easy for United.

With a 52£ million offer having already been rejected, Real are rumoured to be expecting an offer of 60£ million or above if they are to let Morata leave. More than the clubs in the equation, a move away from Real Madrid is a necessity for a Morata if he wants to make it to Russia 2018 with the Spanish National side.

Manchester City close in on signing Alexis Sanchez

The 2016/17 Arsenal Player of the season is close to signing a permanent deal with Manchester City. Despite guiding the Gunners to their FA Cup title the Chilean is hoping for bigger and better things especially after the missing out on the Champions League. At Man City, Sanchez will once again align himself with Pep Guardiola, his former boss at Barcelona. With only 12 months remaining on his contract with Arsenal, the Gunners would be looking to cash in rather than having to let him go for free next summer.

As for Sanchez, a move to City might help him secure more silverware but with the Citizens having already signed Bernardo Silva [1], the Chilean international will have to fight for his place in the club.

Jurgen Klopp plotting a 30£ million raid

Virgil Van Dijk wanted Liverpool, Liverpool wanted Virgil Van Dijk, Southampton though grew jealous of the ordeal and ultimately played spoilsport by bringing the move to a halt. Liverpool since then has gone in search of replacements for Van Dijk and it seems they’ve found their man. Dutch International and Lazio defender, Stefan de Vrij are currently Klopp’s No.1 transfer priority. The 25-year old who has spent the last three seasons with Lazio was a member of Netherland’s 2014 WC squad that finished 3rd.

Liverpool in total has a total of 6 central defenders in their squad as of this moment but none apart from Lovern and Matip are up to the quality that Klopp expects from them. The defence has been one of the clubs major problems over the years and on paper, Stefan de Vrij looks to be a very good signing if it goes through. However, it has to be seen whether the Dutch international can cope with the Premier League’s pace and physicality.
