Where they are in the table

5th – Arsenal – 23 games – 42 points – Goal Difference +19

6th – Spurs – 23 games – 40 points – Goal Difference +5

Tottenham

The first of the two big derby’s of the week sees an In-form Tottenham team hosting their North London rivals Arsenal. The Spurs are brimming with confidence after a few good weeks in which they have made it to Wembley in the League Cup and also thrashed Tony Pulis’s West Brom 3-0 last week.

Another reason for the Spurs to be happy is the form of their young gun Harry Kane. The 21 year old has already scored 20 goals this season in all competitions with 10 of those coming in the Premier League.

Tottenham has only finished twice above their arch rivals Arsenal in the Premier League but a win on Saturday will help them move ahead of Arsenal in the table. Spurs haven’t beaten the Gunners in their last four meetings and will hoping to set the record straight.

Arsenal

Arsenal has been in fantastic form off late. Last week they thumped Villa 5-0 but the team has looked confident ever since their win versus defending champions Manchester City away from home.

Unlike Spurs Arsenal will be missing a number of first team players from their squad. Alexis Sanchez will not be available as he has not yet fully recovered from the hamstring string injury. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlin and Jack Wilshire will also be missing in action.

Arsenal will find some warmth in the news that Danny Welbeck is set to return for Gunners as he has recovered from the thigh problem that kept him out.

Spurs have a full squad to choose from with Nabil Bentaleb returning to the team after his international duties in the AFCON.

Previous Meeting

The last time these two meet the game ended 1-1 with Alex-Oxlade Chamberlin equalizing for Arsenal in the dying minutes of the game. Nacer Chadli has initially given Spurs the lead.

Last time these two meet at White Hart Lane, Arsenal picked up the win with a goal from Tomas Rosicky.

Verdict: – Both teams require a win here with the winner probably booking themselves a place in the top 4 this season. A draw here would be disastrous for both clubs as fellow top 4 contenders Liverpool, Manchester Unites, Southampton and West Ham will all be looking for a drawn game these two.

Prediction: – 2-1 to Spurs (This one promises to be a thriller and i won’t be surprised if there are more goals in this.
