The Uruguayan striker who was one of the major reasons for Liverpool’s title challenge last season is set to make a return to Anfield less than a year after making the switch to Spanish giants Barcelona for 75£ million.

Suarez will return to Liverpool to play in the Liverpool FC charity match organized by the Liverpool FC Foundation which is scheduled to be held on the 29th of March. The departure of Luis Suarez was one of the problems for Liverpool’s early season struggles this campaign but Liverpool team under manager Brendan Rodgers seems to have found their mojo from last season and have won 10 out of their last 12 Premier League matches.

Brendan Rodgers when asked about Suarez’s return to Anfield said he will be greeted with a hero’s welcome and was quoted as saying

‘It’ll be great. We’ve kept in contact since he’s been away. He’s a top-class player. He loved his time here at Liverpool. He always wanted to come back,’

He further added

“’He loved Liverpool while he was here. He’s gone to another country, but he’s certainly adored here. The supporters loved having him here.

‘Every time he stepped on to a training pitch, he gave everything. He’ll probably want to win this game as well.’
