Southampton vs Swansea City

And everyone said they were gonna be relegated…

Southampton has undoubtedly been the team of the season so far. Before the start of the season, most pundits had them as one of the relegation favourites but I am guessing they’ll chewing their words right now.

Southampton currently lies 3rd in the table two points ahead of 4th placed Manchester United. Southampton did suffer a minor setback last week after getting knocked out of the FA Cup by Crystal Palace but those are minor blips on what has otherwise been a picture perfect season so far.
Southampton are in the inform team in the Premier League; they have picked up 16 out of the last 18 possible points. Southampton will still be missing the midfield trio of Toby Alderweireld, Morgan Schneiderlin and Victor Wanyama heading into the match but the saints can happy with the return Saido mane and defender Yoshida who have come back from international duty.

Like Southampton, Swansea City was also a team that had been predicted to struggle at the start season. But similar to Saints they have also proved their doubters wrong. They are currently 9th in the table with 30 points and looking ahead towards another mid-table finish.

Swansea has been on a bad run of form off late. After their victory against Aston Villa in December they haven’t been able to pick up a win in the last four league games (losing two and drawing two). In the two losses against Liverpool and Chelsea they were absolutely hammered especially in the later game.

Last week’s FA Cup exit, after losing to lower league side Blackburn Rovers will also have not done any good to their confidence.

Swansea will be missing both Kyle Bartley and Gylfi Sigurdsson as the duo picked up red cards in their FA Cup defeat vs Rovers. Garry Monk will probably hand out a debut to new signing Kyle Naughton.

Prediction: – Draw (Two teams who play football that is delightful to watch and their clash on Sunday promises to be a entertaining one but a low scoring one)
