PSG-vs-BarcelonaPSG vs Barcelona – Prediction

Barcelona to win 2-1, If Laurent Blanc had his full squad of players fit and free from suspensions then PSG would have been the favorites heading into this game. They are undefeated at home since May 2014 in fact they haven’t been beaten at home in European competitions for 33 years but that record is in real danger of getting shattered on Wednesday.

Barcelona are looking as good as they’ve ever been and with the front three of Suarez, Neymar and Messi all in top form this match against a heavily crippled PSG looks easy pickings for Barca. The French champions will have to play out of their skins to keep this tie alive and take it to the second leg at Nou Camp two weeks from now.

Betting Tips

  •  Barca start as the favorites to win the games at an odd of 1.8. The odds for a PSG win is at 5 while for a draw is at 3.90. A Barca win may not be a bad especially considering the kinda of football they’ve been playing recently.
  • Our sure fire bets for this game would an Over 2.5 bet at an odd of 1.85 and a Both Team to Score bet at 1.8. Even a combination bet of these two won’t be bad idea.

PSG come into this game on the back 4-0 win against Bastia in the Coupe de la Ligue final on Sunday. It was their 5th Coupe de la Ligue triumph and must now shift their attention to the Champions League were they have the tough task of overcoming Barcelona to keep their quadruple dreams alive.

PSG are currently top of the French Ligue having a one point lead over 2nd placed Lyon. PSG qualified for the quarters on away goals rule after their two legged tie against Chelsea ended 3-3.

PSG had already hosted the Catalan giants once this season and ended up getting a 3-2 win. They are still undefeated at home this season.

PSG has already tasted exit from this stage of competition twice in the last two seasons. In fact two seasons ago it was Barca that send PSG packing on away goals rule after the aggregate score ended 3-3 after the two legs.

PSG however come into this game considerably weakened by absences of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marco Verratti and Serge Aurier all of whom are suspended. Thiago Motta will also miss out due to injury and the participation of David Luiz is a major doubt.
