Palace-vs_arsenal betting tipPalace vs Arsenal – Prediction

Arsenal to win 3-1, They may have been outplayed and outclassed by West Ham last week but you can expect Arsenal to bounce back with a vengeance against Palace on Sunday. The likes of Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and Oliver Giroud need to pull up their socks and prove their worth and will have plenty of support from a returning Alexis Sanchez.

As for Palace they have gotten off to good start to the season and need to build on it. They have a better squad than last season and must focus on their form at home. They’ll cause Arsenal trouble but at the end of the day the Gunners just too much quality for the Eagles to handle.

Crystal Palace

Yohan-Cabaye

Yohan Cabaye – The French international made this Palace debut with a goal against Norwich last week and will be hoping to put in another good effort against Arsenal, a team who’ve tried to sign him before (mirror.co.uk)

The Eagles come into this game on a back a comprehensive 3-1 win against newly promoted Norwich last week. Although the scoreline is a bit misleading Palace were clinical in front of goal and deserved all 3 points.

Palace have now won 11 of their last 19 games in the league under the management of Alan Pardew. 7 of those 11 wins came away from home proof of how their counter-attacking football is causing trouble to the teams across the division.

In the 10 home games Palace have featured under Pardew the Eagles have only managed to win 4 and have lost of 5 those games. However of those 4 wins three of them came against the likes of Manchester City, Spurs and Swansea, once again a proof of how good they are when playing counter-attacking football.

Palace have beaten the Gunners only three times in their history with the last of those wins coming way back in 1994. If Palace do manage to beat Arsenal on Sunday it’ll be the first time in their history that they’ll be winning the first two games of the season in the top division.

The Eagles have no fresh injury concerns heading into the game however the duo of Marouane Chamakh and Julian Speroni still remain out with their respective injuries.

Arsenal

Alexis-Sanchez

The Chilean international had a really good first season in the Premier League scoring 25 goals in all competitions. Judging by their opening day performance the Chilean must once again lead from the front to get Arsenal up on track (express.co.uk)

Arsenal come into this game on the back of 2-0 defeat to West Ham at home last week. It was a humiliating defeat to say the least and talks of a title challenge have died down, atleast for now. Arsenal had 62% of the possession and 22 shots at goal but only 6 of ’em were on target.

Peter Cech was a major disappointment on his Premier League debut for the Gunners and was at fault for the Hammers’ opening goal. Upfront Oliver Giroud looked lost and totally isolated from what was happening behind him and cries for Arsenal to sign Karim Benzema have grown louder.

Arsenal have won 10 and lost just one of their 18 games against Palace at Selhurst Park. The last time they suffered a defeat against the Eagles was way back in 1994 when they suffered a 2-1 loss at Highbury.

If Arsenal are to lose the game against Palace it will be first time since 1992/93 that they open the season with two consecutive defeats. However despite the two consecutive losses to kick off the season Arsenal still went onto win the FA Cup and League Cup in the 1992/93 season.

After coming of the bench in last game Alexis Sanchez might be given his first start of the season against Palace. Hector Bellerin has also returned from a thigh strain but the trio Welbeck, Wilshere and Rosicky remain in the long-term injury list.

Past Meeting

The last time these two teams met at Selhurst Park Arsenal secured all three points with a 2-1 win. Arsenal infact had won both their games against the Eagles last season both being 2-1 wins.

Where they are in the table

4th – Crystal Palace – 1 game – 3 points – (+2 GD)

19th – Arsenal – 1 game – 0 points – (-2 GD)
