Manchester City vs Leicester City

Manchester to win 3-1. It simply a must win game for City who cannot slip-up further especially at this point of the season and if they are to remain in the title race.

City haven’t been at their best this season and have struggled especially against the “little teams”. It has a lot to do with their mentality and if they expect the foxes to simply roll over they will be badly mistaken as the Foxes have enough in them to hurt the Citizens. BET ON MANCHETSER CITY TO WIN!

Manchester City

Heading into the Champions League clash versus Barcelona last Tuesday Manchester City were on a role winning two successive Premier League matches  4-1 and 5-0 against Stoke City and Newcastle respectively.

But the past week was a horrendous one for the club. First they lost to Barcelona 2-1 at home which means they now need to score at least two goals in the Nou Camp to progress to the quarters.

Following that loss to Barcelona Manchester City had their Premier league title hopes dashed as they were beaten by Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield. The results have mounted more pressure on Manuel Pellegrini with reports suggesting that City are ready to replace the Argentine coach if they don’t win at least one trophy by the end of the season.

Wifred-Bony

Is City out of the race?

Definitely not! They are still very much in the title with Chelsea just 5 points away from them though with a game in hand. But results like the ones against Liverpool can’t be happening again till the end of the season.

Citizens have the perfect run of games to recover their mojo with them facing relegation contenders Leicester and Burnley in their next two League matches.

Manchester City has no injuries worries ahead of their clash with the foxes. The game might see Wilfred Bony making his first start for the club after three successive substitute appearances.

Manchester City have not suffered successive league defeats since October 2010. They have won only two of their last seven league matches.

Leicester City

Nigel-Pearson

Nigel Pearson – Time running out for the foxes to ensure Premier League Survival (BBC)

The foxes start the week dead last in the table and even a win against City won’t help them move up in the table but it’s a win they need to keep up their hopes of Survival.

They come into this match on the back of impressive 2-2 draw against Everton last week. They played their heart out and should have gotten a win for their efforts.

But they didn’t! and now find themselves 4 points away from safety. Leicester has won just two games from their last 21 Premier league game as a result not much will be expected from Nigel Pearson’s men at the Etihad stadium and if they sneak a point from there will be a big achievement from their part.

Leicester City have won their last four away games against Manchester City keeping a clean sheet in three of those matches but this season they have only managed to keep 4 clean sheets from 26 games thus far.

There are no new injury worries for Nigel Pearson and will also be happy with the news that Kasper Schmeichel their no.1 goalkeeper who has been out of the team since December due to injury will most probably be able to make a comeback this month.

Past Meeting

Last time these two teams met this season Manchester City won the game 1-0 thanks to a 40th minute goal by former Chelsea player Frank Lampard.
