Man City v West Ham – Prediction

Bet Tips Man City v West Ham GW 3

It’s safe to say City are flying and are the early leaders heading into Gameweek 3. Despite much of the attention being on the imminent exit of Joe Hart, the Citizens have been improving on the pitch as each week passes by. The Hammers on the other hand come into this game with a severe lack of confidence. It should be a good game and Manchester City will be made to work for what will be their 5th consecutive win under Guardiola.

Verdict: Manchester Win – (2-1)

Betting Tips – Man City v West Ham

1. Manchester City Win – 1.30 (Paddypower)

It’s safe to say that City are the overwhelming favorites heading into the game. The Citizens have been improving as each game passes by and should get the win against West Ham. The odds on offer though aren’t that great and so we are staying away from betting on the winner. West Ham Win ( 11.00 – Ladbrokes), Draw ( 6.50 – Bet 365)

2. Anytime Scorer – Sergio Aguero – 1.53 (Ladbrokes)

Sergio Aguero is the man in form for City. The Argentine has scored 6 goals from three games in all competitions this campaign and should grab atleast one against the Hammers.

3. Over 2.5 Goals – 1.53 (Marathon Bet)

City have conceded in both their games in the league this season. West Ham on the other hand are on a 15 game scoring run. We expect goals in this game with City grabbing atleast two if not more.

Manchester City come into this game on the back of a 1-0 win over Steaua Bucuresti mid-week. The 6-0 aggregate win over the Romanian side has guaranteed City a place in the Champions League group stage this season. Guardiola will be relishing the prospect of facing his former club Barcelona with whom City have been drawn in Group C.

Coming back to the Premier League, City top the table heading into Gameweek 3. City were lucky to get the 3 points from their opening game against Sunderland and were made to work by Stoke in their 2nd game. Manchester  City have won 8 and lost just one of their 10 games against West Ham at home.

A defeat for City on Sunday will be their 250th loss in the Premier League

Sergio Aguero has scored 6 and assisted a further two goals in his last 7 league games against West Ham. The Argentine striker has already scored 3 goals in the league this season. City had conceded a total of 21 goals at home last season which was more than those conceded by 17th placed Sunderland and 16th placed Swansea.

Joe Hart who made his first appearance of the season against Bucuresti on Wednesday is set to continue his Premier League hiatus. City’s newest acquisition Claudio Bravo is likely to sit out despite being match fit and Willy Caballero will continue on goal.

The likes of Vincent Kompany, Bacary Sagna, Leroy Sane and Ilkay Gundogan are still missing with injuries.

It has been a disappointing start to the season for the Hammers. They come into this game on the back of a 1-0 defeat at home against Romanian club FC Astra Giurgiu on Thursday [2]. The defeat has resulted in West Ham exiting the Europa League in the play-off stage for the second consecutive season.

West Ham can concentrate on the Premier League now with no European distractions. The Hammers have not been at their best in both their Premier League games this season. After a 2-1 defeat against Chelsea in the opening game of the season they secured a narrow 1-0 win over Bournemouth last week.

Man City will be testing fixture for Slaven Bilic’s men who did secure a 2-1  win in the corresponding fixture last season. West Ham had a respectable away record last season winning 7 and losing just 5 of their 19 away games. West Ham who have pretty much toothless upfront this season will be bolstered with the arrival of Simone Zaza from Juventus.

The fitness status of both Payet and Lanzini are still unclear and one has to wait to see whether both or atleast one of them can play against City. Club Captain Mark Noble should return to the team after being rested against Astra Giurgiu. Havard Nordtveit will miss out after picking up an injury against Astra.
