Hull had a great start to the year with a 2-0 victory over Everton, it signalled that Steve Bruce’s men might turn the season around but they followed that victory up with three consecutive defeats that saw them in the bottom three.

Just when everyone was counting them out they showed that they still have fight left in them when they held the defending Champions Manchester City to a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium. In their last game Hull picked up a crucial victory over fellow strugglers Aston Villa to move one point clear of the Relegation zone.

Hull City have massively under-achieved this season having won only five matches all season but one of those victories were against QPR in the opening day of the season.

Hull however aren’t too far away from where they were last season, this time last season Hull had 27 points but they were sitting 11th rather than 16th.

Hull has been hard done with the news that Mohamed Diame will be out for a further three months. He adds to a growing list of players that Hull have in their long-term injury list which includes James Chester, Liam Rosenior and Robert Snodgrass.

Away victories weren’t something you would relate to QPR but they managed to pick up their first away points and victory against Sunderland last week. They now turn sights to a Hull team that are one point ahead of them in the table.

QPR just can’t afford a loss here as they follow this game up with two trips to Spurs and Arsenal in the league. Harry Redknapp’s replacement Chris Ramsey seems to be doing something right with the Rangers that was evident from their much improved performance versus Sunderland. It was their first victory in 8 league matches.

QPR’s last win at Hull was way back in 1970 when they registered a 2-1 victory.  QPR are top of the table when it comes to number of goals conceded.

One man chasing a milestone here is Joey Barton who has picked up seven consecutive yellow cards which is league record. QPR will be boosted by the return of Charlie Austin after he missed their victory against Sunderland.

However Alejandro Faurlin, Richard Dunne, Sandro, Nedum Onuha, Mauricio Isla and Leroy Fer are all out with injuries.

Past Meeting

The last two teams met this season Hull won the game 1-0 courtesy of a goal from James Chester. It was the first ever top flight meeting between the two clubs.

Where are they in the table?

16th – Hull City – 25 games – 23 points

17th – QPR – 25 games – 22 points
