Manchester City vs Everton Betting TipEverton vs Manchester City – Prediction

2-2 Draw, It’s hard to go against Manchester City given the way they’ve been playing this season, the defense looks tight and with the Sergio Aguero leading their attacking line there’s no clear weakness in their team.

Everton on the other hand looked more like their former-selves against Southampton last week, Lukaku finally looks like a player worth the 28£ million and the duo of Ross Barkley and John Stones are impressing in their respective roles.

City have had a difficult time against Everton at Goodison Park and the matches between these two are almost always entertaining so expect this to be a great game and don’t be surprised if the game consists of a lots of goals.

Everton

everton fc prediction

Everton come into this game on the back of a 3-0 away win against Southampton last week. Everton who had been held to a 2-2 draw by Watford in the opening game of the season made a definitive statement of intent by thumping Southampton 3-0 (Lukaku-2 & Barkley-1 ).

The win against Southampton was their first win against the Saints at the St.Mary’s Stadium in over a decade. In addition to the win Everton also managed to keep a clean sheet which was only their second clean sheet in the last 18 away league games.

The win would have come as a relief to the Club’s owners as a banner was flying above St.Mary’s before kick off which read – “Kenwright & Co #timetogo”. It’s true Roberto Martinez hasn’t been given much funds to spend in the transfer market but they do have the quality in the squad to have a good league campaign especially considering the fact that they’ll not be playing in Europe.

Everton have a good record at home against Manchester City winning 4 and losing just 1 of their last 6 games against the Citizens at Goodison Park. Roberto Martinez on the other hand has had a miserable time facing the Citizens managing to pick up just two points in the 12 games he has faced them.

Darron Gibson and Leighton Baines are expected to miss the clash against City however Kevin Mirallas who had picked up an injury against Watford and remained a unused substitute against Southampton may start against the Citizens. Tony Hibbert and Steven Pienaar remain in the long term injury list for the Toffees.

Manchester City

manchester city prediction

What a start to the season it has been for Manchester City, after kicking off the campaign by thumping West Brom 3-0 away from home they went to do the same against current Premier League champions Chelsea at Etihad stadium last week winning 3-0 once again.

City who had been tipped by many of the bookies to finish outside the top 4 before the start of the campaign look like a side full of hunger and desire wanting to prove their doubters wrong. City have already opened up a 5 point lead over Chelsea and will be hoping to maintain it at the end of this week.

Goodison Park has never been a happy hunting ground for City as they have won in only 3 of their last 18 visits to the blue half of Merseyside. Sunday could see the debut of City’s latest 45€ million acquisition Nicolas Otamendi whom they’ve signed from Valencia on a 5-yr deal.

If the Citizens are to win against Everton on Sunday it’ll be the first time since 1912 that they’ll winning 9 games in row in English football’s top division. In the 176 previous meetings between the two teams Everton and Manchester City are neck and neck winning 66 times each.

Defender Pablo Zabaleta is set to miss action for atleast a month due to an ankle injury. The other injury concern for City is midfielder Fernando who is likely to sit out on Sunday after picking up a groin injury. However the duo of Gael Clichy and Fabian Delph returns for City after recovering from their respective injuries.

Past Meeting

The last time these two teams met at Goodison Park the game ended in a 1-1 draw with City picking up the lead in the 74th minute via Fernandinho only to see their lead perish in 4 minutes with Naismith equalizing for Everton.
