Mile Jedinak looks set to return for Palace

Palace comes into this match on the back of a 5th round FA Cup exit against Liverpool. Palace were not their usual self versus Liverpool and was beaten by the Merseyside team at Selhurst Park for the first time since 1992.

Apart from this minor blip the Pardew’s reign at Palace so far has been exciting, they have lost just once in their last five matches under him and picked up 10 points from a possible 15. They are 5 points clear of the relegation zone at the moment and look set to achieve Premier league safety for the second consecutive season.

The atmosphere at Selhurst Park will be rocking for the visit of a Premier league giant and this has all the ingredients for a great London derby.

Palace’s recent home form has not been great winning just 3 in their last 14 home matches. Palace hasn’t beaten Arsenal since 1994 ( 2-1 victory at Highbury).

Crystal Palace could be boosted by the addition of their captain Mile Jedinak who returns from an injury he picked up during International duty. James McArthur might also return for Palace but Sanogo who was loaned from Arsenal is ineligible to play.

Arsenal are unpredictable as ever, last month they outplayed the defending Premier League champions, Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium and won 2-0 they followed it up with a 5-0 thrashing of Aston Villa and just when everyone started believing in them they went on to lose 2-1 vs Spurs.

The narrowly beat Leicester in the following game and come into this match on the back of a 2-0 victory over Middlesbrough in the FA Cup 5th round.

Arsenal are 5th in table one point behind Southampton who are in 4th  but the problem for the Gunners are the teams below them – Spurs and Liverpool have been in incredible form and if Arsenal are to slip-up these two teams will move ahead of them.

Arsenal has won all their last 11 matches at Selhurst Park dating back to 1979. Gunners are second in the table when it comes to dropping points away from home from winning positions.

Jack Wilshere is set to return for the Gunners after being sidelined since November. Full-back Hector Bellerin faces a fitness test to see if he makes it to the match.

Past Meeting

Last time these two teams met this season Palace drew first blood when Hangeland scored in the 35th minute. Arsenal equalised in the first half injury time through Koscielny and went on to win the game 2-1 after a second half injury time goal from Aaron Ramsey.
