Chelsea-vs-Stoke-CityChelsea vs Stoke City – Prediction

Chelsea to Win 2-0, It is difficult to see Chelsea losing this one. They haven’t been at their best over the last few games but they are still the league leaders for a reason. Chelsea are still undefeated at home this season and we expect that streak to stay alive against Stoke.

The Potters have had another great season under Mark Hughes. They certainly have the firepower to cause an upset but Stamford Bridge under Mourinho is a fortress not many can break through.

Betting Tips

  • Chelsea start as the odds on favorites to win the match with most sports book offering them odds of around 1.3.
  • Chelsea have kept a clean sheet in their 6 of their last 7 matches against Stoke and the odds of a Clean Sheet is at 1.75 which is something which you should keep and eye out for.
  • Our best bet for this game is to go for Under 2.5 goals as we don’t see too many goals in this match especially if Diego Costa is not fit.

Chelsea

Cesc-Fabregas

Fabregas has been fantastic in his first season with Chelsea providing 16 assists in the league so far (express.co.uk)

The league leaders come into this game on the back of a hard fought 3-2 win away win against Hull City two weeks back. Good teams always find a way to win difficult games and that was the case with Chelsea’s win over Hull City.

Chelsea are sitting comfortably at the top of table with a 6 point lead and game in hand compared to 2nd placed Manchester City.

Chelsea still have the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool to play this season so win here is critical as weirder things have happened towards the end of the season.

Chelsea have won only one of their last four league games at Stamford Bridge and have not scored more than one goal in all those matches. The Blues however are the only team in the league still undefeated at home this season 11 wins and 3 draws in their 14 home league games till now.

Cesc Fabregas has been fantastic for Chelsea this season and is looking set to break his own assists record of 18 in a single season set back in 07/08 for Arsenal as he already has 16.

Spanish striker Diego Costa is a doubt to face the Potters with an Hamstring injury. The only other absentee for Chelsea will be John Obi Mikel who remains out with Knee injury.

Our Other Predictions for Saturday

Arsenal vs Liverpool

Manchester United vs Aston Villa

Stoke City

Mark-Hughes

Mark Hughes second season as Potters manager has been fantastic as they are currently 8 points better than they were at the same stage last season (theguardian.com)

The Potters come into this game on the back of a 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace two weeks back. It was their second consecutive defeat in the league after going on a three game winning run.

Nevertheless it has been a great season for the Potters under Mark Hughes and should overtake their best ever Premier league point’s tally of 50 by the end of the season.

Chelsea are team that the potters hate to face having not scored against the blues in 6 of their 7 league meetings against them.

Mark Hughes’s men have been extremely susceptible to set pieces this season having conceded 16 goals from them so far this campaign. They are still the only side along with Burnley to have not suffered a red card this season.

Stoke City will be boosted by the return of Marc Muniesa after he recovered from a hamstring injury, they also should have Jonathan Walters fit after he suffered a calf injury during training.

Victor Moses however won’t be available to play against his parent club.

Past Meeting

The last time these two teams meet this season Chelsea won the game at the Britannia Stadium 2-0 thanks to goals from John Terry and Cesc Fabregas.
