Chelsea-vs-PSG

Chelsea vs PSG

Game to end 1-1 and PSG to go through on Penalties, It’s a bit surprising to see some sports books placing Chelsea at even odds to go through to the quarters. Aside from yesterday´s surprising results we expect this match to not go over 3 goals, so any under bets are welcomed. It will be a tight match but PSG is better armed than Chelsea. Here is how you should lay out your bets…

How to bet for Chelsea vs PSG

  • Under 2.5 Goals

Our prediction goes against all bookies and other tipsters so if you want to play it safe go with the Under 2.5 goals. This will be a tight match, that is something we agree upon with the whole betting community. But if you are feeling risky the playouts fot PSG winning are something to consider, just imagined if you had placed a bet yesterday for Real Madrid losing vs Schalke…

Yes! Chelsea does start the game with an away goal advantage and have the home field advantage as well but they are coming up against a team whose attack will be led by a certain Zlatan Ibrahimovic. It will be interesting to see how the defensive pairing of John Terry and an increasingly susceptible Gary Cahill handle Zlatan.

Pro Bettor Ed Rusi betting tip

Ed Rusi goes for PSG win +0.5 , meaning there is either a draw or PSG wins to take the purse. There is a good chance we will see penalty kicks on this match.

 Chelsea

Nemanja-Matic

Chelsea will be strengthened by the return of Nemanja Matic (express)

Chelsea come into this match on the back of a 1-0 win over West Ham in the Premier League, last Wednesday. Chelsea starts as the favourites having secured a crucial away goal in their 1-1 draw at Parc des Princes in the 1st leg.

Since the 1st leg tie versus PSG, Chelsea got held by Burnley in the league, Won the League Cup beating Spurs 2-0 in the final and got past West Ham United by a single goal last week.

It’s been a week since their last game so they should be relatively fresher than their opponents for Wednesday’s game.

Chelsea will be hoping for the same result as last season when they went on to win the 2nd leg quarter final tie versus PSG 2-0 at home and thereby progressing to the semi’s based on the away goals rule.

Chelsea’s biggest threat will be Zlatan Ibrahimovic who missed that year’s tie due to a injury and will be eager to make a mark here. Last time he played on England soil he went to strike four goals with one of them being a 35 yard bicycle kick. He is the big difference in this game.

The only absentee in the Chelsea ranks will be midfielder John Obi Mikel who is out with a knee injury but they’ll boosted by the return of Nemanja Matic who comes back after serving out his ban.

If Chelsea are to go through it will be their fourth quarter-finals appearance in the last five seasons.

 PSG

 Zlatan-Ibrahimovic

Zlatan will be PSG’s main man against Chelsea

PSG come into this match on the back of a comfortable 4-1 win over Lens in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday. They are currently 2nd in the French Ligue one point behind the current league leaders Lyon.

Since their 1-1 draw versus Chelsea at home in the first leg PSG have been in impressive form winning 3 and drawing 1 out of their four cup and league games.

The memories of their last visit to Stamford Bridge will be fresh among the minds of the PSG contingent who will look to pull off a upset against the current Premier League leaders.

PSG will miss the services of Lucas and Serge Aurier who both are missing due to groin and thigh injuries respectively.

Past Meeting

During the first leg tie between the two teams Chelsea took the lead and a crucial away goal through a Branislav Ivanovic header in the 36th minute however PSG pulled level in the 54th minute through an Edison Cavani header.
