Burnley-vs-ArsenalBurnley vs Arsenal – Prediction

Burnley 1-0, On paper Arsenal should thrash Burnley by scoring 3 or 4 goals but the game isn’t played on paper. Burnley have been brilliant in their last two home games against Manchester City and Tottenham picking up 4 points from them. Burnley are a team fighting for Survival and they are the most dangerous kind of teams you can face this stage of the season.

Arsenal have been brilliant in the league over the last few months and come into his game on a 7 game winning run. Almost every bit of stat is pointing to a Gunner victory but there is something about Burnley that makes me want to risk my money on them.

Betting Tips

  •  If Arsenal do score the first goal in this game and that to pretty early on in the match then it could get ugly from Burnley’s point of view.
  • The odds for a Burnley win is at 6.5 while for an Arsenal win is at 1.57. The draw is at the odds of 4.33.
  • The really brave ones out there try and place a small wager on Burnley.

The Clarets have been brilliant in their last two homes game first pulling of one of the biggest upsets in Premier League history against Manchester City and then holding Top 4 hopefuls Tottenham to a 0-0 draw last week.

Burnley now face perhaps there biggest test this season as they host the most inform team in the Country. They have a relatively easy run of games till the end of the season as compared to some of the fellow relegation candidates.

The relegation battle may well go into the last game of the season when they face Aston Villa away from home. Burnley have been brilliant against the teams from the top half of the table and if Burnley had shown the same kinda form against teams around them then they would have comfortably been away from the relegation battle by now.

A win against Arsenal on Saturday may help them move away from the bottom 3 if other results go their way but the Clarets have scored only one goal in their last 5 premier league games and that to by George Boyd against Manchester City.

Burnley don’t have any fresh injury worries and should start the same 11 that faced Tottenham last week.

Arsenal come into this game after thrashing fellow top 4 contender Liverpool 4-1 last week. City losing last week meant that Arsenal are now 2nd in the table and the closest contender to Chelsea for the title.

The Gunners are are currently 7 points behind Chelsea but the Blues have a game in hand and that too against Leicester City. Gunners can’t be dreaming of title challenge just yet they are still involved in the fight for the top 4 but have a 9 point lead over Liverpool in 5th.

This will the 100th meeting between the two sides with Arsenal leading the head to head stats with 45 wins and Burnley lagging slightly behind with 33 wins. Arsenal however haven’t won at Turf Moor since a 2-1 win way back in 1970.

The Gunners have the same record at this point in the season as they had last campaign with 63 points, 19 wins, 6 Draws and 6 Defeats. They come into this game of a 7 game winning run and have won 10 of their last 11 league games.

Wojciech Szczeny will undergo a fitness test before the game after recovering from a rib injury however defender Laurent Koscienly is a doubt with hip and thigh troubles.

This is the closest Arsenal have gotten to a fully fit squad this season with the likes of Mathieu Debuchy, Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta and Abou Diaby all back available for them.

The last time these to teams met Arsenal went on to win the game 3-0 thanks to a brace from Alexis Sanchez and another goal from Calum Chambers.
