Barcelona-vs-Real-Madrid Barcelona vs Real Madrid – Prediction

2-2 Draw with Ronaldo to score, This will be the 230th competitive game between these two footballing giants. Real leads the way in head to head stats with 92 wins but Barca aren’t far behind with 88.

Their isn’t any doubt as to who comes into this game as the favorites. Barca have been in top form this calender year and are the favorites in the eyes of most sportsbooks to win the La Liga this year. Their enviable front three of Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar have been playing really well together with trio scoring a combined 55 league goals this season.

Real Madrid come into this game on the back of a win against Levante but are looking far from their best. A lot of their recent form comes down to the form of Cristiano Ronaldo who is looking an increasingly frustrated man as each week passes by.

However in games like these form goes out the window and it’s the team that shows the most desire and passion that will end up as the victors come the end of the game.

Betting Tips

  •  Barca come into this game as the favorites having won 27 of their last 30 matches in all competitions.
  • The game usually has a lot of goals with both the teams scoring in their last 17 meetings. The odds for both teams to score is at around 1.45 which is fairly low.
  • You could however combine it with a Over 2.5 bet and a play for a combination bet at odds of 1.67.
  • Betting on over 3.5 with odds of around 2 may not be a bad idea with 9 of their last 17 meetings having produced more than 3.5 goals
  • Odds for a Barca win is fairly low at around 1.7, the odds for a Real win is at 4.5 and for a draw is also around 4.5

Barcelona

Lionel-Messi

Lionel Messi -The highest scorer in El Clasico history with 21 goals (Eurosport)

The Catalan Giants come into this game on the back of a 1-0 win over Manchester City on Wednesday. The victory meant that they eased through to the quarters of the Champions League and will face PSG next.

Barca’s immediate attention will now turn to the La Liga were they have the taunting task of facing Real Madrid just four days after their Champions League game in the season’s second El Clasico.

Barca are currently top of the La Liga one point ahead of Real Madrid. With 11 games still left this season it may not be a title decider but it will have a role to play in how the rest of the season goes for both these teams.

Lionel Messi has been on stunning form off late scoring a total of 17 goals this calendar year alone. Barca’s last league game was against Eibar last weekend and they won the game 2-0.

Barca have won 9 out of their last 10 games with the lone loss coming against Malaga at home. They have won 27 of their last 30 games in all competitions.

Luis Enrique will still be without midfielder Sergio Busquets who has still not fully recovered from his ankle injury. The only other absentee for Barca is Thomas Vermaelen who is still to make his debut for Barca since making the switch from Arsenal in the summer.

Real Madrid

Ronaldo-Bale-Benzema

The trio of Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema have scored a total of 15 La Liga goals between them in 2015 which still two less that Messi’s 17 (Celebnews)

Real Madrid come into this game on the back of a 2-0 win against Levante last week. The win was much needed as it ended their 3 game winless streak in all competitions.

The Galaticos haven’t looked themselves since their heavy 4-0 loss to Atletico Madrid a few weeks back. They’ve only managed to collect 10 points from a possible last 18 in the league.

2015 just hasn’t been Ronaldo’s year he has been struggling to regain his early season form that saw him scoring an incredible 25 goals in the first 14 league games of the campaign. In the 10 league games he has featured in 2015 Ronaldo has only managed to score 5 goals.

Not only Ronaldo but the combined three of him,Bale and Benzema has scored only 15 goals in the La Liga in 2015 which is still two less than Messi’s tally this year.

A win on Sunday however will see them moving ahead of Barcelona with 10 games remaining in the season but a loss would see them slip four points behind Barca.

Real Madrid has won the last two El Clasicos and if they win on Sunday it will be the first time they win three consecutive El Clasicos since 1978.

Toni Kross and Iker Casillas should come back into the side after being rested in last week’s 2-0 win over Levante. Real Madrid’s only absentee is James Rodriguez.

Past Meeting

The last time these two teams met this season Barcelona took the lead early thanks to a Neymar strike in the 4th minute but from that point onwards it was all Real Madrid as they went on to score three with Ronaldo, Pepe and Benzema and winning the game 3-1.

Where they are in the table

1st – Barcelona – 27 games – 65 points – (+62 GD)

2nd – Real Madrid – 27 games – 64 points – (+53 GD)
